AccuRev browser fails to open from client after upgrading AccuRev

0 Likes

PROBLEM/ABSTRACT:
After upgrading a UNIX/Linux server to a new release of AccuRev, executing acgui from a UNIX/Linux client fails with the following error:

(Unable to locate the application's 'main' class. The class 'fw.MainApp' must be public and have a 'public static void main(String[])' method. (LAX)

CAUSE:
The lax.dir and lax.root.install.dir directories specified in the acgui.lax file can not be accessed from the client machine.

SOLUTION:
There are two solutions for this problem.

1. Make sure you can transverse down both these paths from the client machine.

2. Edit the acgui.lax file located under <accurev install directory>/bin and specify a path that is accessible for your client for the following entries.

# LAX.DIR
# -------
# path to directory holding LaunchAnywhere's native launcher

lax.dir=/home/jstanley/ac38/bin/

# LAX.ROOT.INSTALL.DIR
# --------------------
# path to the installdir magic folder

lax.root.install.dir=/home/jstanley/ac38
