"PROBLEM/ABSTRACT:
After setting up the email_post_promote and server_post_promote script, no emails are generated upon a promote operation.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:
1. Make sure all the steps in the email_post_promote and
server_post_promote script have been addressed.

2. Make sure you can compile both of these scripts. Run the following
commands:

perl -c email_post_promote.pl
perl -c server_post_promote.pl

3. Try pinging your smtp server.

c:> ping smtp.servername.com

4. Try telneting onto your smtp server.

c:> telnet smtp.servername.com 25

That should connect you to the mail server, where you can run the command:

helo localhost

which should come back as follows (using our server...):

c:> telnet smtp.test.com 25
220 accurev.com SurgeSMTP (Version 3.6f5-5) http://surgemail.com
helo localhost
250 test.com. Hello localhost (12.19.132.4)
quit
221 Command QUIT, disconnecting


Connection to host lost.

5. Make sure, the usernames are correct in this section of the email_post_promote script. Comment out any lines that don't have a valid username.
