Now Available: LoadRunner Enterprise 2022

by Micro Focus Employee in Application Delivery Management

We are pleased to announce the release of our latest version of LoadRunner Enterprise. In this release, we continue our investment into customer driven innovation and the latest technology in performance engineering.

The main features of this release are detailed below:

Modernization & Administration

In this release, we have enhanced the LoadRunner Enterprise user interface to a more modernized look and feel. The following are some of those benefits:

  • Redesigned Monitors view from which users can add new monitors more easily to the test during a run. Also, the Edit Timeslot Duration and View Script dialog boxes have been modernized.
  • The Timeslots module in the Performance Test Designer is more simplified.
  • The Analysis Servers module interface is now updated using the latest technologies.

In addition, administrators can enjoy the following new features and integration API enhancements:

  • An alert notification containing the host name and tenant ID is sent to specified users if a host becomes non-operational during a Check Host maintenance task.
  • Configure timeout limits for user sessions in the defaults.json configuration file.
  • Users can use the breadcrumb and dropdown menu added to an entity's details page to search for other entities in the module, and to switch between different entities in the group.
  • The ability to delete LoadRunner Enterprise server licenses from the Licenses page.
  • Limit how far in advance users can reserve timeslots from the LoadRunner Enterprise REST API.

Test Design & Test Run

In LoadRunner Enterprise 2022, we have introduced new capabilities for test design and test runtime. See customer benefits below:

  • Users can now create DevWeb, Web-HTTP/HTML, C Vuser, and Java Vuser protocol scripts directly in the LoadRunner Enterprise Web client.
  • Added support for running Kafka scripts in performance tests and viewing the results in LoadRunner Enterprise graphs and Analysis.
  • For tests created in LoadRunner Enterprise 2022, runtime collation is now the default option for collating run results.
  • Users can configure cloud environment settings so that provisioned load generators are automatically assigned to an Azure Load Balancer backend pool and add custom virtual machine images to the Azure Compute Gallery.

Service Virtualization

LoadRunner Enterprise now includes a Service Virtualization (Virtual Service - All Protocols Unlimited) license, enabling performance engineers to use Virtual Services and simulations during performance testing.

With Service Virtualization, users can quickly overcome application dependencies, test component performance early and in isolation, improve quality by simulating extreme performance characteristics, and reduce the cost of test environments.

See additional customer benefits below:

  • Free Service Virtualization capabilities for all LoadRunner Enterprise customers
  • LoadRunner Enterprise 2021 and above embedded usage and capabilities
  • Add projects that contain virtualization services to performance tests and use simulated services during test runs.
  • Test earlier in the development cycle
  • Supports end-to-end continuous testing
