I have a Pentium 4/AMD Athlon single processor machine with Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller (APIC). I run Windows 2000/XP.
When I choose "Start/Shut Down/Reboot" or "Start/Shut Down/Shut Down" option, system fails with the following message:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000020,0x000000FF,0x0000001,0x800690A6)
***Address 800690A6 base at 80062000, DateStamp 3a248741 - hal.dll
Also, if I don't have PS/2 mouse and SoftICE starts at boot time, Windows 2000/XP will not boot up.
It is a known problem in SoftICE 2.5/2.6 with the new motherboard chipset that use APIC in single processor machine.
To identify APIC, you can see more than 15 IRQs in device manager.
This bug will be addressed in DriverStudio 2.7.
