JVMPI support for JVM

Problem:

How to tell if a JVM supports JVMPI?

Resolution:

To find out if JVM has JVMPI support or not follow below steps:

1. From command prompt type:

java.exe -Xrunfdjksdlf -version

2. JVM's that contain support for JVMPI will return an error, something like:

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Could not find -Xrun library: fdjklsdf.dll

--This indicates that JVMPI support is provided in the JVM.

If the JVM doesn't support JVMPI it will sometimes return the above error, but DPJ will issue a warning if -Xrun is supported but not JVMPI (in the form of an OutputDebugString message [windows] or fprintf( stderr ) [unix].
