This article addresses undocumented syntax of the NMCL instrumentation option /NMIgnore that will ignore the instrumentation of a class.

Problem:

The current documentation lists the syntax for ignoring a source file during the instrumentation process:

/NMignore:source-file

What is undocumented is how to ignore a named class regardless of where it is encountered across multiple source files.

Resolution:

In the example of a class called CCellProperty, the below is the appropriate syntax (* = wildcard):

/NMIgnore:*:*CCellProperty*
