Why does the mouse 'go crazy' sometimes?

Problem:

When I go into SoftICE, the mouse gets stuck and does not allow me to type any command, or it scrolls wildly around the screen in a random and unpredictable fashion.

Also when I get out of SoftICE, the mouse clicks many places at random.

Resolution:

SoftICE cannot flush the hardware packets from the interrupt queue, so moving the mouse as you go into SoftIce will cause this problem.  Press Ctrl-M or ESC repeatedly when this occurs inside of SoftICE. Ctrl-Alt-Del will flush the queue if this occur in Windows. In most cases, this will fix the problem.
