Code Review does not populate Metrics or Naming violation in results tabs

Problem

When running Code Review in DevPartner Professional suite version 11, the Naming tab and Metrics tab indicate “Data Not Collected.”

How do I enable these options in Code Review?

Resolution

You can enable “Collect Metrics” by going into Visual Studio, select the DevPartner tab and then select Options. A dialog box will appear. Now select DevPartner>Code Review>General. Select the checkbox of which options you would like to select such as:

  • Collect Metrics
  • Collect call graph Data
  • Always generate a batch file
  • Always save review results
  • Prompt for a session file name

Once you have made your selections, go ahead and run code review. Once the results populate you should now see the metrics in the Metrics Tab.

For the Naming Tab: If you selected Naming Guidelines and made additional choices on the Naming Guidelines options page, a Details pane appears below the Naming tab, providing additional details about the selected naming violation. You can enable this by going to:

DevPartner>Code Review>Naming Guidelines and then select the checkbox of which options you would like to select. Once you have made your selections, go ahead and run code review. Once the results populate you should now see the Naming results in the naming tab.

*You can review all of the customization options of code review by going to C:\ Program Files (x86)\Micro Focus\ DevPartner>Understanding DevPartner.pdf- Chapter 3 Static Code Analysis pg 59.
