Profiling the JBuilder Samples with DPJava 3.X

Problem:

I'm trying to use DevPartner Java 3.X to profile the samples in JBuilder, but the session file states "No data found".   What do I need to do?

Resolution:

All the samples in JBuilder are in packages that start with com.borland. By default we exclude all those packages.

So what you need to do in order to profile the JBuilder samples is to specifically include for profiling the com.borland.samples.* packages. Here's how to do that:

1. With JBuilder off, open DPJ and go to the Configurations tab.

2. Select the jpx configuration name. You'll see a page where you can make edits to this configuration.

3. In the box on the left of the screen under Data Collection, select Packages and Classes.

4. Click the radio button labeled Collect data only for. Then Click the Add button.

5. In the text box that appears, type in com.borland.samples.* and OK.

6. Now open JBuilder and profile the sample again. You should be getting session data now.
