FLEXLm does not recognize a valid DPJ Server license on non-Intel Platforms

Problem:

Why doesn't DevPartner Java (DPJ) recognize my valid server license?

Resolution:

On some non-Intel platforms FLEXlm determines a host id value on the platform that is different than that obtained by the /usr/ucb/hostid or similar command. This mismatch will result in FLEXlm concluding that the license is invalid. The trial license supplied will be used to launch DPJ instead. After 14 days, the DPJ will no longer launch remotely since the trial license has expired.

Resolution:

Install License Manager even if the platform will not be running a concurrent license. Run the ./lmutil lmhostid command from the License Manager directory used the hexadecimal value returned as the hosted value.

lmutil - Copyright (C) 1989-2001 Globetrotter Software, Inc.

The FLEXlm host ID of this machine is 'hexadecimal value'

Use the value returned as the hostid value when ordering a server based license.
