Application crashes when TrueTime 6.X runs under Windows 2000 or XP.

Problem:

Version 6.X of True Time under Windows 2000 or XP, the application crashes when mach5.sys is loaded

Resolution:

To use TrueTime Quantum Technology under Windows 2000 or XP, you need to disable the enforcement of read-only memory protection on kernel mode drivers. You can do this by creating or modifying the following Windows 2000 registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

"EnforceWriteProtection"=dword:00000000

After making this change, you need to reboot the system.

If this registry entry was originally correct and you still encounter a crash (blue screen or hard reboot), then you'll probably need an updated Mach5 driver that is provided free from technical support

For W2K and XP systems
