Instrumenting a VB DLL for TrueTime, TrueCoverage (TT, TC)

Problem:

I have a DLL written in Visual Basic that I would like to get Profiling/Coverage info for. How do I do this?

Resolution:

The first step is creating the DLL in VB. After that, perform the following as applicable:

  1. On the DevPartner menu within the VB IDE, choose: Make With TrueTime. This will compile with TrueTime Instrumentation.
  2. On the DevPartner menu within the VB IDE, choose: Make With TrueCoverage. This will compile with TrueCoverage.

Once you've done that, you can run any .exe that calls the DLL outside the VB IDE. You should see TrueTime/TrueCoverage recording controls. This will not work if you are working inside the VB IDE. The .exe must be run from within Windows, on its own.
