ALM DataBase Connection SQL Server

when running the system health it shows this error on the server "Database Connection Error: failed OpenConnection: failed OpenConnection: Error related to the network or specific to the instance while establishing a connection with the SQL Server. The server or the server could not be found was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to support remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The remote computer rejected the network connection.) "when checking, the base Data allows remote connection, being tested by connecting from the same server of the Performance Center. Both servers can be connected by PING to the ip and to the name of each machine.
How can I solve this problem ?

  • Hi Ariel.

Which ALM/PC version are you using?

Also, please check the below recommendations.

    • Move the Lab Project and user project DB schemas associated with ALM platform from a named SQL
    • Server instance to a default SQL Server instance running on the default port (TCP port 1433).
    • If using a new ALM/PC setup, reconfigure ALM and PC to the new DB server with default SQL instance (no named instance).
    • Configure the SQL named instance dynamic port to match the port number used in the PCS -> database connection string.

If the error is still present, please open a discussion on the ALM forum, since this is related to ALM connection to DB.
