Problem:

What causes a "267: Could not create LTC session message" when running SilkPerformer test definitions in SilkCentral Test Manager?

Resolution:

ANSWER
----------------------------------
Executing SilkPerformer projects within Test Manager creates an RMI registry on port 10099. If this port is already in use the execution of SilkPerformer projects in Test Manager will not work and the above error message will be returned.

One known cause of this error is if the software management application Baramundi is installed. This software uses port 10099, which causes a clash with the port used in Test Manager.

An application called Active Ports can be used to check the ports in use. This application can be downloaded from the following location Active Ports

A patch has been created to allow the port number in Test Manager to be configured. After applying the patch it will be possible to define the port number. The port can be specified in SccLtcVersionsConf.xml and this will override the previous hard coded value. If you require a copy of this patch please contact support@segue.com
