How can I place a custom logo onto the standard SilkCentral Test Manager reports?
Firstly you need to select the standard report
that you wish to change the logo on. In this case I will select the
Manual Tests report. You need to go to the Administration –
Reports section and click the download template logo for the
relevant template. Save this .rptdesign file to a location of your
Then download the BIRT Report Designer (if you have not already done so) from Help – Tools.
Save and extract the zip file to a location of your choice. Then run the BIRT Report Designer by double clicking the BIRT.exe icon. Once BIRT is open click File – Open File and browse to the .rptdesign report template file and click Open:
Select the “Borland” image by clicking on it and press Delete to remove it. Then right-click in the area you want your new logo and select Insert – Image:
Select “Embedded Image” from the Edit Image Item dialog and then click Add Image. Browse to your logo file and click Open, the new image will be displayed in the Edit Image Item dialog. Select your image and click Insert:
The report template file will now contain your new logo in the header instead of the original Borland logo:
Next save this .rptdesign report template file with a name of your choice, in this case I will call it “Manual Tests2.rptdesign”.
Click "Next" to set Report Properties at this stage if you wish or simply click "Finish".
Now go back to SilkCentral Test Manager and the Administration – Reports section and click the Upload button at the bottom of the page. Set the report name, description, select what projects you wish to use this report in and also the modules you wish to use it in (it is possible to multi-select values by holding down the Ctrl key). Finally browse to where you saved the new .rptdesign report template file and click OK:
Go to the Test Manager – Reports section and select the report you wish to run. Click the Report tab and click “” or the “Select Report Template” logo and select the report you just uploaded:
Now when the report loads up your new logo should be displayed in the header of the report:
