When connecting to a database, the error "Localhost cannot be found" occurs. Why is this?
After installing SilkCentral Test Manager a user must first configure a connection between SilkCentral Test Manager and a database.
If an error stating “Localhost cannot be found” occurs even when the correct username, password, database and hostname are entered then this error could be due to the SQL Services on the machine not currently running.
You may also need to change the “Log on” account of the SQL Server Instance to "Local System account" if it is showing as a different account, as permissions can affect whether the services will start correctly. This can be verified in Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services.
Once the SQL Services are running, you should then try again to connect to the demo database in SilkCentral Test Manager
