Problem:

How do I create a SilkCentral Test Manager data source that connects to an MS SQL database?

Resolution:

  1. From within SilkCentral Test Manager go to Administration | Configuration | Data Sources.
  2. Click "New Data Source".
  3. Enter a name into the "Name" field.
  4. Set "Driver class" to net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver.
  5. Set the URL field to: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://[hostname]:[port]/[database];instance=[instance name] i.e. jtds:sqlserver://ukbed-bpatton:1433/bpatton;instance=Borland .
  6. Select the Table filter and Key Column.
  7. Click "Ok" to save the configuration.
  8. Click "Yes" to import the data.
  9. Click "Ok" on confirmation message.

The new data source will now appear in the list of current Data Sources.
