How do I delete an inbox that has archived defects assigned to it?

You should always ensure defects are in a closed state before you archive them, this way they will no longer be assigned to an inbox. In order to detach all related defects from the inbox you want to delete you need to first identify any archived defects still assigned to the inbox. To do this choose:

  • Open the Administrative console
  • Run a Query By Example and specify the "Assigned To" inbox that you want to delete
  • Check the "archive" checkbox
  • Execute the query

When the query executes you will get a list of archived defects that are assigned to this inbox. Now highlight all rows in the results dialog and choose:
DBADMIN | UNARCHIVE SELECTED RESULTS

Once these are all set to active again you need to close these by using the appropriate workflow actions and once these are closed you should be able to delete the inbox. If you still experience problems deleteing the inbox then contact Support.
