Problem:

After I perform a SQL UPDATE from a 3rd Party tool to change some SCIM defect tables, why is SCIM timing out when I click any links?

Resolution:

ANSWER
----------------------------------
When you perform a SQL Update/Insert from a 3rd Party Tool such as SQL Query Analyzer, you start a SQL transaction. While the transaction is being performed the tables in the database are locked until the transaction is complete. In order for the transaction to complete and for the update to be committed you must close the 3rd party tool.
