Problem:

Can a user edit tests from within the Manual Testing Client?

Resolution:

From SilkCentral TestManager 2008 - if a user is using the Manual Testing Client to view and run their assigned tests then they will be able to:

• Edit Test Definition Name
• Edit Test Definition description
• Edit a Step description
• Edit the expected results for each step
• Add a new step to the end of the list
• Insert a new step between existing steps
• Duplicate a step
• Delete a step
• Move a step up or down the list of steps

To do this:

• Enter a test execution
• The Following options can now be seen:

• Click on the “Edit” button

The user will be able to see that the above options are now active:

These options are also available by right-clicking on the test steps

• click the “Edit” button to ensure that the editing ability is locked again.
