At this time, Microsoft SQL Server is the only type of test
management database supported.
The SilkCentral Test Manager database can either be an MS SQL
database if MS SQL is available or an MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server
Desktop Engine) database.
During the installation of SilkCentral Test Manager, it checks
for an existing installation of MS SQL Server. If it finds one, it
will use that as its database, however, if it fails to find it, it
will then install MSDE (Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine), which
can be used as a local Test Management database for evaluation
purposes.
The supported versions are:
Microsoft MSDE 1.0 with Service Pack 2
Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2
Microsoft SQL Server 2000
