Problem:
Why does my SilkCentral Execution Server process keep switching off? I am trying to change from running the Execution Server as a service to running it as a process.
Resolution:
To change the Execution Server run type you must be logged in with administrator-level privileges. If you are not, the Execution Server run type will appear to have started correctly until you either change tab on the SilkCentral Services Manager or you minimise the Services Manager GUI. At this point one of two things will happen:
1. If the PC was started with the Execution Server run as a service then it will revert to service.
2. If the PC was started with no Execution Server running then the Execution Server will turn off.
If the operating system is Windows Vista or Windows 7 then the User Account Control must also be turned off.
