Problem:

Why do I get "Unable to get information from localhost" when trying to connect to my SilkCentral TestManager database?

Resolution:

This error message may appear when SilkCentral TestManager has been installed for the first time and you click on the "Connect" button to attach to the database.

The source of the message is a port number already in use; the default SilkCentral TestManager port number is 1455. To check this open a command window and run "netstat -ao"; if port 1455 appears in the list than change the SilkCentral TestManager port number to an unused one.
