As SilkCentral TestManager is a Windows based application which
uses the Windows NT file system (NTFS) it doesn"t support the
network file system (NFS) of Linux/Unix UNC pathways out of the
box.
When trying to remotely access a source control pathway that is
located on a Unix/Linux box i.e. a shared folder via a UNC pathway
in SilkCentral TestManager, the formats of the folders differ in
their fundamental workings and so need to be adjusted so that a
Windows based NTFS can recognise a Linux/Unix NFS setup.
Workaround: There is a possible way around this by using a
freeware tool called "Samba"
(http://us1.samba.org/samba/what_is_samba.html) you can add a level
to the folder formatting between the Windows and Linux/Unix
machines which would convert the folder format NFS to be
recognisable by Windows and accessible through a UNC pathway.
