Problem:

Is there any information on upgrading from an English Version of SilkCentral Test Manager to a German Version?

Resolution:

This type of upgrade has not been fully tested and is therefore not officially supported, however if such an upgrade is performed, the following points should be noted:

• Some information is written language specific to the database.
  • E.g. the Audit log which will then have English entries up until the time the upgrade occurred.
• Some terms such as issue types in Issue Manager are terms that are defined in the database (but changeable in the GUI) and with an upgrade will remain in English.
• The example reports are duplicated (once in English and once in German).

It is always advised that such upgrades are performed first in a test environment and that users always backup their database beforehand.
