Problem:

Why do the values for the number of defects opened in the "Issues" tab remain at zero after I have created a new defect?

Resolution:

ANSWER
----------------------------------
When entering a new defect from Test Manager into an external defect tracking tool the value in the "Issues" tab may appear to remain at zero even though a new defect has been entered.

This can occur because the statistics for external tracking tools by default will only be updated on an hourly basis. Therefore you will not see the first value incremented until 60 minutes has elapsed since the application server has been started and then it will not be updated again until after the next elapsing hour.

You can change the interval when the defect statistics are updated by going to the Application Server machine:

C:\Program Files\Segue\SilkCentral Test Manager 8.1\conf\appserver

Select the "TMAppServerHome.xml" file and modifying the interval value (value is in minutes).

60

Save the file and restart the Application server for the setting to take affect.
