Why do I get a "Cannot find initialisation variable "temp"" error when trying to set up an MS VSS connection?

Resolution:

QUESTION
----------------------------------
Why do I get the following error when trying to set up an MS VSS connection?

ERROR command: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\\ss.exe" DIR "$/" -F- -I- -Ytestman,asdfjkl;1 Output: Error: Cannot find initialization variable "Temp"

ANSWER
----------------------------------
There is a known intermittant problem with the MSVSS plugin which uses the COM API of SourceSafe. This happens with other applications using MS VSS and is not confined to SilkCentral TestManager. The workround is to use the MSVSS (cmd line) Source control system when creating the profile. This problem will be corrected in a future version of SilkCentral Test Manager.
