How do you change the duration that login cookies are stored for SCTM?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

Cookie Duration

Each time a user accesses SilkCentral, a cookie containing encoded login information is created. These cookies are destroyed when users log out, or when sessions time out.

When the "remember password" option is enabled however, cookies are not destroyed when sessions timeout. Instead, they remain active for a set duration of time. This enables users to continue working with SilkCentral without re-entering login information after each session timeout.

By default, cookies remain active for 30 days. The duration setting can be adjusted by the Administrator.

Set login cookie duration

  1. Open the SccFrontendBootConf.xml file with a text editor. This file is located in the /conf/FrontendServer folder of the SilkCentral directory on the front-end server.

  2. Locate the BootConf\Options\Login\MaxCookieAge XML tag. By default, this tag is set to 30.

  3. Set the value to the number of days you want login cookies to remain active on user"s computers.

  4. Save and close the XML file.
