Why do I get a ‘java.lang.NullPointerException’ error (see below) when I upload a TestPlan to SCTM?


Answer

The error occurs because the TestPlan may contain a ‘testdata’ field which is blank, as follows:

Delete the blank testdata field and upload the the testplan again. This will resolve the error.
