Problem:

How can I get my antivirus/security center to allow SilkCentral Test Manager to send emails?

Resolution:

If using an anitivus or Security center that is currently blocking SilkCentral Test Manager from sending emails then it is advisable to set this program to allow traffic via port 25.

The standard port commonly used for SMTP connection is port 25. In an effort to stop spam, all traffic to port 25 on anything except internal SMTP servers may be blocked. Some antivirus software may also block port 25 to prevent mass emailing worms from sending out e-mails.

All e-mail sent via the Internet is routed through this port. When an e-mail server that runs on a computer delivers messages, it always uses port 25 to transmit data to remote e-mail servers.

Therefore, please ensure that the antivirus/security center is not blocking port 25, if so, unblocking this port from the antivirus settings may resolve the issue.
