QUESTION
----------------------------------

If the error "Cannot find .Rex File" is shown under additional execution information in SCTM, how can it be resolved?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

This problem can be caused by using a script that had been recorded or written within a project, therefore when SCTM 7.0 tries to run it, the settings may be different to that within the project and therefore causing the script to fail and the above error being reported in SCTM.

To resolve the problem, you can run the test script using the execution server but change the option in the "SccExecServerBootConf.xml" file.

This file can be found at: "C:\Program Files\Segue\SilkCentral Test Manager 7.0\conf\execserver".

Search this file for the following line:

-q -tm -fullreport

The -q option closes SilkTest after the script execution, remove the -q option and SilkTest will stay open after script execution. Leaving SilkTest open will allow you to see any errors that occur.

The -q should be reinstated after the problem has been resolved.

Another option is to run the script from outside a project, this should show the same errors.
