Problem:

When starting StarTeam Client I get a "blank" error message displayed on the splash screen and StarTeam does not start

Resolution:

This error can be caused by having your Windows Default Input Language set to a language that is not recognized by StarTeam, and not having a supported language also installed (such as English, French, German or Japanese).

If StarTeam does not recognize the currently installed input language (such as Welsh - United Kingdom), it will attempt to default to a recognized language (as mentioned above) during the loading and running of StarTeam.

To resolve this issue:

Open CONTROL PANEL | REGIONAL & LANGUAGE SETTINGS | Select LANGUAGES tab | Press DETAILS

make sure that you have installed a recognized language (such as English, French, German, or Japanese) in addition to your standard locale language. This will be listed under ‘Installed services’.
