After upgrading the StarTeam Client, file status are Unknown or will change from Current to Missing
Description:
After upgrading the StarTeam Client, file status are Unknown or
will change from Current to Missing.
Answer/Solution:
In order to resolve this, simply locate the file status repository for StarTeam (syncdb folder) and delete it. By default, this is located in "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Borland\StarTeam\syncdb" on Windows. Close StarTeam. Delete this folder. Restart StarTeam. Once you open the project again, all files will probably be in an Unknown Status. Select all the files, right click and select "Update Status". The file status should reflect the proper status at this point.
This occurs because of differences in how the CPC calculates file status compared to earlier version of StarTeam. The File Status calculation feature has undergone heavy refinement and due to those changes, the sync db folder might need to be purged from your machine.
If the problem persists, try to reinstall the CPC because this could indicate some corruption in the CPC installation directory.
