Why are files showing as "unknown" status in StarTeam 2006 even though my 2005 R2 client shows the correct status?


Answer:

This problem arises in the 9.2 release of the CPC when the File status repository location is set to Central?in your Personal options of StarTeam. If files have been added to StarTeam from 2005 R2 CPC on Linux, the folder path is set to use Linux mapping e.g "/TestFolder". The StarTeam 2005 R2 client on Windows and Linux?accepts the folder path "/TestFolder". With StarTeam 2006 the workaround is to change the File status repository to "Per Folder" in the StarTeam personal options. This issue is being investigated and will be fixed in a future release.
