Failed to acquire a database connection

Resolution:

    Description:

    The StarTeam service shows an error while starting, error in the Server.en-US.log is as follows:

    65 00000002 2005-09-26 04:03:23 Attempt to reserve a connection after a bad connection was dropped (pool size = 0)
    66 00000004 2005-09-26 04:03:23 Exception thrown from Unknown: Class = StDatabaseException, Code = 33(0x00000021)
    Msg = Failed to acquire a database connection. Please contact an administrator to increase number of database connections


    Answer/Solution:

    This is due to an insufficient number of database pooled connections for your environment. You should increase the number of pooled connections that the StarTeam server is permitted in order to resolve this error. To edit this setting from within the StarTeam client click "Tools"->"Server Administration"->"Configure Server"->Select the "Database" tab->Increase the number of pooled conections.
