Problem:

When trying to create a report from the StarTeam client why does it display "none available"?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2005 to 2008 R2
  • Product Component: StarTeam Server
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows

Question:

When trying to create a report from the StarTeam client why does it display the message "none available" in the Report dialog?

Answer:

This usually indicates that the Reports folder is missing from the client installation folder. The reports folders should be located at C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2005 R2. The reports are specifically named for each feature in StarTeam. For example, change request report templates will be named ChangeXXXXX.XXXX, and requirement report templates will be named RequirementsXXXXX.XXXX etc.

If the folder is missing, you can copy it from another StarTeam client installation. Please ensure it is the same version of client. Alternatively you can reinstall the client software.

If the Reports folder is installed and it contains report files then it may be a problem with the client not being able to detect the files. To resolve this open StarTeamCP.stjava in a text editor and add the following line:

options=-Xmx256m -Dstarteam.reports.dir="C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2005 R2\Reports" -Dstarteam.help.dir="C:\Program Files\Borland\StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2005 R2\helpdocs"

Save the file and start the client.

Please change the paths above to reflect your own installation.
