Problem:

User has read-only access to view, but cannot change from alternate to default working folder

Resolution:

Description:

At particular user is granted only "See object and its properties" access rights for a view. In View > Properties..., the user changes from the default working directory to an alternate working directory. The user then tries to change back to the default working directory, however they get an error that says they do not have the access rights to do so.




Answer/Solution:

This issue occurs when the default working directory is pointed to a drive which does not exist on the user"s machine. For example, if the default working directory is D:\directory but the user does not have a D:\ drive, they will receive the error when performing the above steps. They will be able to perform the steps successfully if they do in fact have a D:\ drive on their machine.
