ERROR: 2186: The service is not responding to the control function

Resolution:

Problem

When startingthe StarTeam server as a NT service, this error message can occur. This isan NT-generated error that basically states that the service is taking longer tostart than expected. However the service continues to start.

The errormessage commonly occurs with StarTeam servers that run high end databases, suchas MS SQL Server or Oracle.

Workaround

Since this error is mostly informational by NT, and the service will continueto start, this message can generally be ignored.
