Problem:

Value of "File Time Stamp at check-in" is not matching with file"s "Date Modified" time in Windows Explorer"

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2008 r2 , 2008
  • Product Component: CPC
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows

Description:

After file check-out, value of “File Time Stamp at check-in” is not matching with file’s “Date Modified” time in Windows Explorer for certain files.

Answer/Solution:

Files with timestamp at checkin in between the Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes have this problem. The dates are stored correctly in the StarTeam DB using UTC and the offset is applied correctly in the StarTeam gui. Windows explorer doesn"t apply the correct DST offset to the file on disk, because it is applying the current DST offset rather than the historical one.

CR#2457 has been logged to match the file timestamp in CPC with windows.
