Resolution:

This can occur if you have upgraded to 2006 without following the recommended upgrade path. As described in the StarTeam 2006 documentation you need to be on one of the following versions before upgrading. All builds mentioned in this KB are available from the MicroFocus Supportline website.

If you were using build 8.0.168 prior to upgrading then please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Revert back to the StarTeam 8.0.168 database and make a backup before continuing
  2. Convert Native-I archive files to Native-II format and check the GoNativeII.en-US.log to ensure it completed
  3. Run Vault verify, available via

    StarTeam Server 2005 Patch 21
  4. If Vault Verify succeeds upgrade to StarTeam Server 2005 R2 (build 8.0.172) available via

    StarTeam Server 2005 Patch 21
  5. Install Server Patch 29, available via StarTeam Server 2005 Patch 21
  6. Back-up the database and upgrade the database by opening Server Administration and selecting
