Problem:

StarTeam Configuration will not start. Instead it is reporting many errors such as: "Msg = Invalid object name 'syn_change'"

Resolution:

These errors can occur if your StarTeam 2009 Configuration has no license registered.

Exception thrown from Unknown: Class = SA_DBMS_API_Error, Code = 208(0x000000d0)
Msg = Invalid object name 'syn_change'.
[Function Name] = CStDatabase::InstallStoredProc

This can be confirmed by the following warnings being evident at the start of the StarTeam Server log file:

Warning: Server component Audit.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component Change.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component ChgPkg.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component File.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component Requirement.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component Task.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component Topic.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.
Warning: Server component Trace.SSC failed to load.  Please ensure that the server is properly licensed.

Note: These warnings explain that ALL components are unavailable. If, however, you have an Enterprise License registered, it is normal to receive one or two warnings of this type. In this case, the server should start as normal.

To resolve this, either enter a valid evaluation or full license, and then restart the StarTeam Configuration.
