StarTeam CPC error 'com.starteam.xml.XMLParseException: Premature end of file'

This error is usually attributed to a corruption in the 'history-columns.xml' file on the end-user's computer.

To resolve the issue,

  1. Close the CPC (Cross Platform Client)
  2. On non-Windows 7 machines navigate to

    'C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Borland\StarTeam'
     
  3. On Windows 7 machines navigate to

    'C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Borland\StarTeam'
     
  4. Locate a file named 'history-columns.xml'
  5. Delete this file or rename it
  6. Open the CPC

The 'history-columns.xml' file will be rebuilt when the user logs back into StarTeam.
