Problem:

Borland License Server doesn"t immediately release concurrent licenses after a user logs off

Description:

When a user logs off from StarTeam, the concurrent license pool in Borland License Server is not immediately released.

Answer/Solution:

This is by design. The Belise License Server maintains a heartbeat every 1 minute with the StarTeam server. Borland License Server will properly update itself during the next heartbeat. This means that it could take as much as 59 seconds for a license to release or as little as 1 second. It depends on how closely the log off event and heartbeat update occur.
