Why do I get "Internal application error: 73 is an invalid enum code for property "Executable""

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2006
  • Product Component: CPC
  • Platform/OS Version: Linux

After attempting to check-in a file on Linux that has the "Executable" bit set (for example, it is "RWX" instead of "RW") you get the following error.

Non-executable files (with properties such as "RW") can check-in without problems.

Please install StarTeam Cross-Platform Client 2006 R2 patch #7 for Linux which is available from our Supportline website.

As a workaround, you can also try the following method.

  1. Set the properties of the required executable file as "RW"
  2. Check this file into StarTeam
  3. Once checked-in to StarTeam, right-click the file (in StarTeam) and select "Properties"
  4. Under the "General" tab, place a check-mark against the "Executable" option, and press "OK"
  5. Check this file out (using "Force check-out" if necessary), and examine the file properties in Linux
  6. The file propertiesit should now be "RWX"
  7. Make a change to the file, and check-back into StarTeam

The file should now check-in correctly.
