Problem:

When attempting to move directly to StarTeam 12.0 from StarTeam 2009 the "Actions | Upgrade" step fails with the following error:

Resolution:

This issue can be resolved by upgrading to StarTeam 2009 R2 before the upgrade to StarTeam 12.0.

1. Shut down the StarTeam 12.0 Server Administration Console

2. Install the StarTeam 2009R2 Server which can be obtained from the MicroFocus SuuportLine website

3. Replace the starteam-server-config.xml in the StarTeam 2009R2 installation directory with the file copied from the 2009 installation

4. Start up the ST2009R2 Server admin Console and configure the server properties

5. Run "Actions | Upgrade"

6. Close the StarTeam 2009R2 Server Administration Console

7. Open the StarTeam 12.0 Server Administration Console

8. Run "Actions | Upgrade"
