Users are editing the properties of public filters, which causes problems for other users. Is there a way to restrict rights on the public filters to stop users from changing them?


The access rights for filters and queries are located under the component level access rights. To restrict specific users or groups from editing public filter / queries:

1.  Log in to StarTeam Client with a user account which has can set access rights
2.  Right click on any item within the Item pane
3.  Choose Advanced
4.  Select "Component Access Rights"
5.  Choose the "Filter" category
6.  Set the access rights

The access rights that you configure here will take effect across every project that exists on the StarTeam Server configuration. All users/groups can be restricted from customising public filters.
