Description:

Unable to create and update Change Request with error: Couldn?t create lock file, Access is denied


Answer:

When creating / editing a CR using custom APE, StarTeam throws an error message, Couldn?t create lock file, Access is denied

This issue is due to not having write access to the StarTeam Win32 client installation folder. When using custom APE?s a formserver.lck file is created in the win32 client installation folder. If users accessing the ChangeRequests don"t have the rights that they need on their machines, then the formserver.lck file cannot be created and the above error message will be shown.

The user needs to be able to update the Win32 client installation folder where a formserver.lck file is created
