Problem:

When I open StarTeam Client, no tabs are displayed - why is this?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2005 R2
  • Product Component: Server
  • Platform/OS Version: All

Question:

When I open a StarTeam Client, there are no tabs displaying in the right pane, and I am unable to view anything in the detail pane. What is causing this?


Answer:

This is the primary symptom of an invalid or expired license.
Open StarTeam Server Administration, click on Help | About | License and check to see what is in there. If the license key was an eval key and has expired, contact Sales or Customer Support for assistance. If there is no license key displaying, then the issue could be something a little more sinister.

Check the Server log for an error 5744. If that is the case, see KB article 15873
