cwaftrace.dll not found error after installation

Problem:

After installing the TrackRecord client, I am receiving a "cwaftrace.dll not found" error when I attempting to launch the executable. The .dll seems to be registered properly but TrackRecord is having a problem referencing it. It also seems to be having trouble referencing the nmdbase.dll file as well. How do I fix this problem?

Resolution:

Rebooting after the installation should in most cases resolve this issue.

If the problem persists, try the following:

  1. If the problem occurs on Windows 95 or 98, go into the autoexec.bat file and add a Path statement that says: set path=;"c:\program files\common files\compuware".
  2. If the problem occurs on Windows NT, 2000, or XP, then go into the environment variables and add a new environment variable where the Variable Name is "Path" and the Variable Value is "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Compuware".
