What causes the error, "Unsupported operation was attempted", when adding an Oracle ODBC connection to StarTeam?

  • Product Component: Server
  • Platform/OS Version: N/A


When creating the an Oracle DSN you will get the error: "Unsupported operation was attempted". However, as you click through the series of message dialog boxes you will be able to proceeded and fully complete the Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration. Once this operation has been completed the StarTeam server will be able to use this DSN as the connection to the backend StarTeam database.

This issue is caused by Oracle 9i and 10g , and is purely a cosmetic issue but Oracle have released a patch to fix this issue.
